Fresno State Magazine Fall 2018
An arm emerges into the light with what appears to be an “Iron Man” or movie prop like gadget. What is it? The Tremelo is a sleeve with two to four vibration absorption panels fitted around a patient’s wrist. Inside each panel is a mass-spring-damper system that swishes back and forth against the arm, absorbing the energy created by the shaking which helps stabilize the arm. The device does not run on batteries and it does not deliver electric shocks.
The cover highlights a steady arm wearing the Tremelo with typography that supports the underlying issue and the conflict of Parkinson’s disease. The “Tremor” headline features bright, luminous colors and lighting with an under-glow on the hand to further support this superpower(ful) device.
